Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 July 2026
This policy explains how Elqoo ("Elqoo", "we", "us") handles personal data in connection with this website, elqoo.com. We keep it deliberately short because this site does very little with your data.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Elqoo, Rijksweg 102, 9870 Zulte, Belgium (enterprise number 0589.983.494). For any privacy question, email hello@elqoo.com.
What we collect, and why
- Messages you send us. If you email us (for example at hello@elqoo.com) we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and the content of your message. We use this only to read and reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to you, or taking steps at your request.
- If you ask to be kept informed. Where you explicitly ask us to notify you about a product (such as Chronoscape), we keep your email address for that purpose until you tell us to stop. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical data when the site is visited — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamp — to keep the service secure and running. These logs rotate and are not used to identify or profile you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in security and reliability.
- Visit statistics. We use Plausible Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Plausible runs on our own server (analytics.elqoo.com) rather than a third party's, sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you, does not follow you across other websites, and stores only aggregate figures — never a profile of an individual visitor. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding, at the level of totals, whether anyone is reading these pages.
This site uses no cookies, no advertising, and no cross-site tracking technologies.
Who can see your data
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with the service providers that operate this site on our behalf, as processors:
- DigitalOcean — website hosting, and the server that runs our own Plausible Analytics instance.
- Google (Google Workspace) — our email at the elqoo.com domain.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep email correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and a reasonable period afterwards. Announcement sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept only for a short, rotating period.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@elqoo.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
Changes
If we change how we handle data — for instance by adding an email signup form or analytics — we will update this page and revise the date above.
